Over 2.5 mln people globally have succumbed to COVID-19

At least 2,500,770 people have died since the beginning of the novel coronavirus disease pandemic, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

The milestone of two million global COVID-19 deaths was recorded last month on January 15.

The United States leads with the most deaths followed by Brazil, Mexico, India and the United Kingdom.

On February 22, the United States surpassed the 500,000 total coronavirus deaths mark, according to Johns Hopkins University.

At least 112.7 million COVID-19 infections have been reported worldwide since the beginning of the pandemic, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

U.S. President Joe Biden plans to launch a campaign to educate Americans about vaccines and encourage them to get vaccinated, as he attended an event to mark 50 million COVID-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide since he took office in January.
