China’s internet coverage made education resources available to students in remote areas

As China’s internet users hit almost one billion, internet coverage made numerous education resources available to students living in remote areas.

The internet connection rate in primary and middle schools has almost reached 100 percent, according to a report. This largely helped bridge the gap with urban youngsters.

China’s short video users’ numbers are also skyrocketing. The report shows by the end of 2020, the number of online video users hit 927 million, up by 76 million from the end of March.

Affected by the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 in January 2020, the consumer market for entertainment apps in China has expanded quickly. Social video-sharing apps like TikTok and Kuaishou have become the top two most used apps in China.

An increasing number of companies are marketing their products via livestreaming functions on those apps. Sellers are able to chat with consumers virtually and display products in real-time.
