Pinoy Tests Positive for COVID-19 in Singapore

One Filipino national tested positive for COVID-19 in Singapore, the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed Sunday.

Citing reports from the Philippine Embassy in the city-state, Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Brigido Dulay said this is the first confirmed case involving a Filipino in Singapore.

Amid the rapid-spreading coronavirus, Singapore recently raised its Disease Outbreak Response System Condition to orange, meaning the disease is severe and easily spreads from one person to another.

The same alert level was last hoisted in Singapore during the severe acute respiratory syndrome or SARS outbreak in 2003.

Latest data from the World Health Organization showed there are over 78,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection globally.
