As of 7 a.m. on January 31, there were over 102 million coronavirus cases globally, with the death toll reaching over 2.2 million, according to John Hopkins University. The good news is that there are over 66 million recoveries.

The United States is leading the world in both COVID-19 infections and fatalities, with over 26 million confirmed cases and over 438,000 deaths.

Japan is set to extend the state of emergency over the COVID-19 pandemic and began arrangements of the extension for another three weeks up to one month as Tokyo and seven other prefectures continue to log a high number of infections.

Dubai will begin providing China’s Sinopharm vaccine to the general public as coronavirus infections surge in the Middle East tourism hub. All Emirati nationals are eligible for the vaccine. Dubai residents who are aged 60 and above could also benefit from the vaccination campaign.
