QC’s COVID vaccination simulation to coincide with measles vaccine inoculation

The simulation for Quezon City’s COVID-19 vaccination program will coincide with the local government unit’s actual measles vaccination drive.

Joseph Juico, co-chair of the city’s Vax to Normal Task Force, said, “Using that, we can see also what gaps to address with regards to inoculation proper.”

The city is training with the Department of Health for the vaccination program. The simulation will cover not just the actual vaccination on site, but also other logistical concerns.

The task force has already identified six of 24 proposed vaccination sites and two possible storage areas for the COVID-19 vaccines.

When asked about the challenges the local government is facing in the coronavirus vaccination program, Juico identified manpower as the number one issue, followed by data gathering and communcations.

Based on the city’s informal survey, 48 percent of residents are still undecided whether to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or not.
