Manila residents urged: Sign up for free COVID-19 vaccine

The government of the City of Manila has created a website for the online pre-registration of the city’s residents who want to receive a free COVID-19 vaccine, according to Mayor Isko Moreno.

The website,, features a sign-up sheet, a summary of novel coronavirus disease cases in the city, a still-empty map of areas where people have been vaccinated and an online database.

The COVID-19 vaccines, according to the website, will be administered in two doses to be given four weeks apart.

Moreno said the city government has reached out to the American drug manufacturers Pfizer and Moderna to purchase the coronavirus vaccines.

Mayor Moreno said medical frontliners and senior citizens will be prioritized.

Moreno earlier said the local government unit has set aside 200 million pesos to buy COVID-19 vaccines and will cancel other less important projects to funnel more funds to purchasing vaccines.
