China Expresses Condolences for Typhoon Victims in the PH, Extends P22M Aid

Chinese State Secretary and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday messaged Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. in connection with the ravages of typhoon Ulysses in the Philippines.

Wang said the typhoon caused many casualties and property damage, and extended his condolences to the victims, their relatives, the injured, and the affected Filipino people.

He said the Chinese government is ready to provide assistance.

Wang believes that under the supervision of the Philippine government, and the guidance of President Rodrigo Duterte, Filipinos will survive the disaster and rebuild homes as soon as possible.

It may be recalled the Chinese government announced last Friday, November 20, that it will provide 22 million pesos to support the Philippine government’s efforts to help those affected by typhoon Ulysses.

The Chinese government earlier provided relief equipment worth 7.3 million pesos to help Filipinos affected by typhoon Rolly.
