K-Pop Fans Troll Trump’s Campaign

A video on social media, with over a quarter of a million views, called on K-pop fans to join the campaign to troll the Tulsa campaign rally of President Donald Trump on June 20.

K-pop fans are a force on social media — they posted over six billion tweets last year alone. And they have a history of taking action for social justice causes.

Earlier this month, K-pop fans rallied around the Black Lives Matter movement, drowning out “White Lives Matter” and other anti-Black hashtags.

As images showed empty sections of the Bank of Oklahoma Center, one young person wrote on TikTok: “Gen Z is unstoppable.”

Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted at Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale, “You just got ROCKED by teens on TikTok who flooded the Trump campaign w/ fake ticket reservations & tricked you into believing a million people wanted your white supremacist open mic enough to pack an arena during COVID.”
