Some 85,000 Makati City public school students, from pre-school to senior high school, will receive a learner’s package and free internet load from the city’s local government.
Mayor Abby Binay last Tuesday said the package was a project, in coordination with the city’s School Division Office, which aims to assist the present education system affected by COVID-19.
Binay said the learner’s package would include an On-The-Go flash drive, printed modules, and two washable face masks. The free internet load was good for five hours.
She urged parents to support Makati City’s new program, and she also encouraged them to guide their children in studying despite the health crisis.
Aside from the free internet load and the learning package, students will also receive school uniforms, leather shoes, rubber shoes, and other school supplies.
Public school teachers will also be provided with internet load so that they can teach through online sessions.
