Two suspected Chinese kidnappers were killed during a firefight with operatives of the Philippine National Police – Anti-Kidnapping Group in Angeles City, Pampanga.
Initial information from the PNP-AKG stated that their operatives, together with police from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, spotted a Hyundai Starex in Forest Park at around 9 a.m. The said vehicle was identified as utilized in a recent kidnapping incident of three Chinese nationals.
Police then approached the vehicle to inquire, but those onboard the car fired shots at them. Police Captain Diaz was injured in the incident while two suspects died. Diaz was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
Recovered at the crime scene were three guns and the Hyundai Starex.
Police said this operation was done following the rescue of the three kidnap victims last June 1 and the arrest of two other suspects in Pasay City last June 6.
