The Department of Health is projecting up to 4,600 coronavirus cases in the National
Capital Region by mid-July amid the public’s increased mobility.
In a statement by DOH Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire cases may shoot up to
3,800 to a maximum of 4,600 daily cases next month.
Earlier this week, the department reported a total of 4,634 new cases in the country
between June 20 and 26. The figure is a 53% increase as compared to the 3,051 cases
logged the previous week.
However, the DOH official stressed that no significant increase in severe and critical
cases has been reported.
