DOT received more reports of alleged hotel quarantine breaches before the Makati incident

The Department of Tourism has received more reports of alleged quarantine breaches in hotels after the incident in Makati City.

In an interview, DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said that authorities were not able to look into these reports because the names of concerned individuals were not disclosed.

She emphasized that similar incidents have been reported but names were not given. Puyat then pointed out that the Makati incident was the first time a name of an alleged quarantine violator was disclosed. Since then, authorities were able to investigate the matter.

Puyat has encouraged people to name the violators they know of as well as the hotel.
