Manila City allots P2.5-M aid for victims of Typhoon Odette

The Manila City Council passed a resolution allotting 2.5 million pesos in assistance for areas affected by Typhoon Odette in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso appealed to the Manila City Council last Friday to pass a resolution allocating funds to Odette relief operations.

According to Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, the city government will allot 1 million pesos to residents affected by the typhoon in Cebu, while the provinces of Bohol, Leyte and Surigao del Norte will be provided 500,000 pesos each.

Domagoso earlier called on Manilenos to initiate a fund drive for the victims of Typhoon Odette, and also urged the local businessmen and volunteer groups supporting his presidential bid to set up “Tulong ng Manilenyo sa mga Nasalanta ni Odette” as a fund-raising activity for the typhoon victims.
