Taguig Rolls Out ‘Most Comprehensive’ Scholarship Program

More students in Taguig will receive scholarships after the city council passed an ordinance for a 700-million-peso fund it described as the “most comprehensive” scholarship program in the country.

Varsity members of colleges and universities in Taguig, as well as selected public high schools, will be provided supplementary allowances. Those who win medals and other awards will also receive incentives.

Eligible students of medicine, engineering and other fields will be able to receive full scholarships by signing an agreement to serve the city government.

The city government also added scholarship grants for children or dependents of public servants in the city. Regular college students of the Taguig City University will also be given an allowance.

All graduates of public high schools will be given 15,000 pesos in vouchers “to encourage them to pursue post-secondary education and avail of the city’s scholarship programs.”
