NCOV UPDATE 4/7

As of 5 p.m. on April 7, there were over 133 million coronavirus cases globally, with the death toll reaching 2.8 million, according to John Hopkins University. The good news is that there are over 107 million recoveries.

The United States is leading the world in both COVID-19 infections and fatalities, with over 31 million confirmed cases and over 570,000 deaths.

Over 145 million doses of coronavirus vaccines were administered across China as of Tuesday, the National Health Commission said.

Osaka, Japan will declare a state of medical emergency due to increased strain on its healthcare system. New infections likely exceeded 800 on Wednesday. Torch relay for the Tokyo Olympics through Osaka are canceled.

India had a record 115,000 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday, taking the total to over 12.8 million, data from the health ministry showed. Its coronavirus deaths are now over 166,000.
