Bulacan Airport Gets DoJ Go Signal

The 734-billion-peso Bulacan international airport project is now one step closer to implementation, after securing the go signal from the Office of the Solicitor General and the Department of Justice, according to an official of the Department of Transportation.

Transportation Undersecretary for Planning & Project Development Ruben Reinoso, Jr. said that while project proponent San Miguel Holdings is free to proceed with groundbreaking for the Bulacan airport, the company still has to respond to the Finance department’s request for clarification.

San Miguel and the DoTr signed the concession agreement for the airport in September 2019 to build, operate and maintain the New Manila International Airport for 50 years.

But Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said the delays in the airport project’s implementation are not due to the DoF’s request for clarification.
