NCOV UPDATE 3/10

As of 5 p.m. on March 10, there were over 118 million coronavirus cases globally, with the death toll reaching 2.6 million, according to John Hopkins University. The good news is that there are over 94 million recoveries.

The United States is leading the world in both COVID-19 infections and fatalities, with over 29 million confirmed cases and over 541,000 deaths. The U.S. is set to procure 100 million more doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The Japanese government will not allow overseas spectators to attend the Tokyo Olympics to curb the spread of COVID-19. Japan plans to set a cap of 2,000 overseas arrivals daily during the Olympics.

Thailand will reduce mandatory quarantine from 14 to seven days for arriving foreigners who have been vaccinated within three months of the travel period, starting April. Those not yet inoculated but with coronavirus-negative certificates would be quarantined for 10 days instead.
