The global economy continues to face grave challenges as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on around the world, according to Premier Li Keqiang at the opening meeting of the fourth session of the 13th National People’s Congress which started at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on March 5, attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping and many other state leaders.
Premier Li affirmed, “We will face these problems and challenges squarely, make every effort to make improvements, and do all we can to live up to our people’s expectations.”
With the world still battling the pandemic, Li said China supports global cooperation on combating COVID-19 and calls for building a global health community.
He added China has also made important contributions to advancing global peace and development.
China will also strengthen budget constraints and performance management and promote greater transparency in the process.
