NCOV UPDATE 3/1

As of 5 p.m. on March 1, there were over 114 million coronavirus cases globally, with the death toll reaching 2.5 million, according to John Hopkins University. The good news is that there are over 90 million recoveries.

The United States is leading the world in both COVID-19 infections and fatalities, with over 29 million confirmed cases and over 525,000 deaths.

Over 20 million in Britain have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Canadian regulators on Friday authorized AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine for all adults. It is the third COVID-19 jab given the green light by Canada, following those from Pfizer and Moderna.

The United Nations Security Council gave unanimous approval Friday to a resolution calling for improved access to COVID-19 vaccines in conflict-hit or impoverished countries. It was the second resolution on the pandemic passed by the council since it began a year ago.
