Here are the five Netflix original series to land the biggest launches on the streaming platform:
At number five is ‘Bridgerton’ with 63 million: That’s a solid start for Shonda Rhimes, creator of hit shows like “Grey’s Anatomy” who signed a 150-million-dollar multiyear contract with Netflix in 2017.
In fourth place is ‘Tiger King’: The viral eight-episode documentary series about breeders of big cats, inspired over 64 million people to tune in for at least two minutes.
In third is ‘Stranger Things’ Season 3: This quickly became the show’s most-watched season debut, with over 64 million people tuning in within four weeks.
Season 4 of crime drama ‘Money Heist’ (known as “La Casa de Papel” in Spain) is second with 65 million.
In first place is ‘The Witcher’. Netflix touted the eight-episode fantasy epic series as “our biggest season one TV series ever,” with 76 million households tuning in for at least two minutes of the show within the first four weeks.
