The number of hopeful travelers applying and lining up for medical and travel certificates at the Quezon City Hall doubled in number last December.
The line of applicants was so long that it actually crossed the street to the lagoon of the city hall beside the Elliptical Road.
Once the queue reached the hallway going to the main building, the line looped around three times. There was then another line across the road beside the main building of the city hall.
Though the travel documents may also be secured from the barangay health center, doctors are unable to process all of them.
Dr. Feliza Gamboa Luna, Quezon City health department medical officer three, said, “(All of the health centers also issued travel and medical certificates, but of course, they have many other programs so the number of certificates they can issue is limited.”
Meanwhile, the local government said it was still better to personally apply for the travel documents instead of online.
