China: Ready to step forward with other countries in the process of reducing world poverty

At the International Forum on Sharing Poverty Reduction Experience in Beijing on Monday, China’s President Xi Jinping pointed out eradicating poverty is a common dream of all mankind.

He said efforts of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government have always made it a goal for the people to have a good life.

After eight years of sustained efforts, nearly 100 million poor rural people have risen from poverty, making a tremendous contribution to the global issue of poverty reduction.

Xi further stressed that currently, COVID-19 continues to spread around the world, and the issue of poverty reduction is facing a severe challenge. He said China is ready to work with other countries to advance the process of reducing poverty in the world and the establishment of a community of shared destiny of humanity.

Attorney Noel Felongco, Secretary-General of the National Anti-poverty Commission of the Philippines, attended the forum.
