DLSU Part-time Faculty Member Axed Over FB Post vs. Hontiveros

A part-time faculty member of De La Salle University will no longer be teaching at the school after creating a malicious Facebook post against Senator Risa Hontiveros.

In a story published by The Lasallian last Monday, it bared that a College of Business faculty member made a social media post suggesting that Hontiveros must be sexually harassed behind bars.

The now-deleted post reportedly read: “I recommend she (Hontiveros) teach the prisoners in Bilibid Prison not to rape. Closed-door session.”

The campus paper said the post surfaced after Hontiveros slammed the Lucban Municipal Police station’s online reminder that girls should not wear short dresses to avoid being sexually harassed.

Hontiveros previously said, “There is no dress code for rape. Or for sexual harassment. Instead of teaching women how to dress, we should teach men not to rape.”

The DLSU Student Government also denounced the faculty member’s social media post.
