The Department of Health in Bicol said the region remained free from COVID-19 as of noon on Tuesday.
Dr. Ernie Vera, DOH-Bicol chief, said despite the zero cases, the health surveillance unit has recorded one person under investigation or PUI as of Tuesday afternoon. He said the reported PUI was under isolation in a facility in Camarines Sur.
There were 18 PUIs earlier admitted in two hospitals in Bicol who all eventually tested negative for the novel coronavirus disease and have been discharged.
There were also 13,383 persons under monitoring or PUMs, but 60 have been cleared. The rest were still under the 14-day mandatory self-quarantine.
Vera said they have yet to validate the five suspected PUIs at the Bicol Regional Teaching and Training Hospital in Daraga, Albay.
Luzon island was placed under enhanced community quarantine on Monday evening.
