Master Sergeant Hensie Zinampan, the cop who shot dead a woman in Quezon City, has been dismissed from the service, Philippine National Police chief General Guillermo Eleazar announced.
He said, “I signed the dismissal order of Police Master Sergeant Hensie Zinampan who was found guilty of grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer in connection with the killing of 52-year old Lilybeth Valdez on May 31.”
He said the PNP made sure the entire summary dismissal proceedings followed existing procedures and policies to prevent technicalities that may be taken advantage of by Zinampan to be reinstated in the PNP.
Zinampan, assigned to the PNP Security and Protection Group, was caught on video fatally shooting his neighbor Valdez in Barangay Greater Fairview.
The suspect is already in police custody and is facing murder charges.
Eleazar said he has zero tolerance for wrongdoings in the organization.
