NCOV UPDATE 6/9

As of 5 p.m. on June 9, there were over 174 million coronavirus cases globally, with the death toll reaching 3.7 million, according to John Hopkins University. The good news is that there are over 158 million recoveries.

The United States is leading the world in both COVID-19 infections and fatalities, with over 34 million confirmed cases and over 613,000 deaths.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has eased travel recommendations for more than 110 countries and territories, including Japan just ahead of the Olympics.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Indian federal government would provide COVID-19 vaccines free of charge to all adults from June 21.

Canada reportedly plans to ease quarantine rules for vaccinated travelers, loosening the current 14-day isolation period for travelers who have received two vaccine doses.
