NCOV UPDATE 6/2

As of 5 p.m. on June 2, there were over 171 million coronavirus cases globally, with the death toll reaching 3.5 million, according to John Hopkins University. The good news is that there are over 153 million recoveries.

The United States is leading the world in both COVID-19 infections and fatalities, with over 34 million confirmed cases and over 609,000 deaths.

India’s COVID-19 tally surpassed the 28 million mark on Monday, with over 152,000 new confirmed cases reported in 24 hours, according to the country’s health ministry.

China has delivered a total of 300 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines around the world as it commits to making vaccines a global public good, said a National Health Commission Spokesperson.

Japanese media reported on Monday that spectators will be required to present a negative COVID-19 test certificate before being allowed to enter the Olympic venues.
